Steddy

Close the job and the invoice is already written.

Steddy writes the invoice from the job the moment it closes. The homeowner can pay before the tech leaves, and the office sees the payment land.

Fifteen minutes: we walk you through one job, from the call to the money landing, then show you what it made.

Part of the Jobs screen in Steddy: five jobs, each with its technician, a payment state of Unpaid or Partial, and the job's value.
The Jobs screen, rebuilt from the app. Every job carries its payment state next to what it is worth. Sample jobs.

From the finished job to the money in the account

  1. The job closes

The tech finishes it on their phone, or the office closes it. Steddy writes one invoice from the job, and any payment already taken is counted against it, deposits included.

  2. The homeowner pays

The invoice goes by email in your business's name, with a button to pay online through your own Square account. Or the office sends the pay link straight to the homeowner's phone. The homeowner can also pay the tech on site, by card on your own terminal or in cash. The tech records it in Steddy Crew before leaving.

  3. The job marks itself paid

When the homeowner pays by card through the invoice link, the invoice and the job update on their own. A payment the tech records on site counts against the invoice the same way.

What the office sees without chasing anyone

Unpaid, partly paid, paid
On every job, worked out from the payments against it. Filter the jobs list to the unpaid ones.
Awaiting payment
A running count of finished jobs that haven't been paid in full. The list to work through on a Monday.
Refunds and disputes
Refund in Square and it comes back to the job. If a cardholder disputes a payment, the invoice says so.
The card fee
Square's fee is recorded against each Square payment, so the job's profit already has it taken out.
Xero
Invoices, payments and credit notes go across to Xero. A payment recorded in Xero comes back to the job. Included in every plan, at no extra charge.
